I also noticed that my cats prefere running water. They even paw at the water surface or side of the water dish and only drink it for as long as it ripples… when they are not checking out the faucets for drips.
I was in the process of making a little fountain myself… now I don’t have to. Thanx.

I now do not have the need to make my own. I am a tinker, not an engineer. My kitties destroyed my last prototype. They are playful and attacked the moving parts (mill-like). I digress. I will just buy the fountain that you endorsed here.

I recently bought the Drinkwell Original but am returning it for the Platinum. The maximum capacity of the Original with the 70 oz (max size) resevoir is 120 oz. This will hold 168 oz. I have one cat that will not drink still water. I have been having to turn the sink or any other faucet on to a slow stream to get her to drink. I live in an arid part of the country so i’ve always been worried about her getting enough water. She took right to this product (the Original).
if my annoying dog wouldnt drink all the water and dirty it up everyday i would sooooo get one!
I had one. It got clogged all the time with cat hair. If you don’t mind taking it apart and cleaning every piece every month or so, then it does what it says. Just make sure the water never runs dry because your motor will burn out.
I just bought one today. It has been sitting there flowing for a few hours now (I put it in the same spot as the old water bowl) but neither my cat or dog has attempted to drink from it yet. I hope I didn’t waste my money… My cat is 20 yrs old and drinks LOTS of water all day. So I am wondering why she hasn’t tried it yet.
I had to literally lead my old cats to water and point them at it, but then they figured it out and love it!

Do u think my cat will like it, he will only drink water from the sink and i got to have one sink on at all times
I have two cats and one loves this, and the other does not drink from it. A great product to have if you work away from home, or if you are going away for a day or two.
It’s not something to “spoil” or “pamper” your cat with and it’s not a “luxury”, it’s for their health. My cat simply will NOT drink stagnant water, so if I didn’t use a pet fountain she would probably die of dehydration. Some cats do need a fountain, because some cats won’t drink stagnant water.
